Designed by Mario Loreti in 1938, the 4-star Hotel Mediterraneo is situated on the highest of Rome’s seven hills, the Esquilino, offering guests a magnificent panoramic view of Rome. The ideal location next to Termini railway station in the heart of the city is the perfect starting point for guests who wish to explore a wealth of tourist attractions and famous monuments including the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, Trevi fountain, the National Roman Museum, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and theatres. The hotel features a breakfast room that provides a selection of cereals, fresh fruit and juices, daily-baked homemade bread, and fresh pastries all in a refined and elegant atmosphere. The Ristorante 21, decorated with antique paintings, offers traditional Italian cuisine and international delicacies accompanied by a selection of vintage wines, and the Roof Garden serves a delicious al fresco dining experience all throughout the day. Standard rooms are inspired by Deco rationalism, and although they have been renovated on a number of occasions, their original 1940s furnishings have remained unchanged throughout the years. Hardwood floors, high ceilings and large windows are combined with basic contemporary amenities to give an old-world atmosphere to the rooms while catering for the needs of the modern traveler.
