The hotel is modern, with a large conservatory area situated on the side with views over the square. Opened in September 2001, the hotel now boasts one of the finest spa and health clubs in Europe. Spread over six floors, One Spa includes a 19-metre ozone friendly swimming pool, aromatic baths, hydrotherapy pool and 13 treatment rooms offering E'SPA holistic therapies. It also includes a rooftop outdoor pool that looks out over the Edinburgh skyline. It is an extraordinary experience. The health club has sauna and steam rooms, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness studio. It should be noted that children up to the age of 17 are only able to use the swimming pool within One Spa between the hours of 3pm and 5pm each day and also between 8.30am and 9.30am on Saturday and Sunday.
