It is a large modern building with a slightly featureless facade. All hotels' rooms have been fully refurbished in 2010. This hotel enjoys one of the best locations of any hotel in Basel especially for the tourist.

The lobby is large with plentiful seating. It has recently been renovated in a completely modern style and has "satellite" check-in desks, i.e. three separate desks. The modern bar is integrated into the lobby area.
